A BUILDING on the edge of St Helens town centre is being put up for auction as a "redevelopment opportunity".
The commercial property site on Borough Road is listed on Rightmove, with a guide price of £40,000.
Bids will be invited when it goes up for sale at auctionhouse.co.uk on Monday, May 13.
The site covers 3,800 square feet on a corner plot in a prominent location on a route that leads in and out of St Helens, but its current appearance means it is seen as an eyesore.
The property listings states that it offers "huge potential for redevelopment", with possible scope for extensions.
It suggests the ground floor could be used as commercial units, with residential accommodation above. However, this would be subject to securing planning permission.
Rightmove's information states that the current layout is as eight commercial lock up shop units on the ground floor with office space upstairs.
Registrations to bid can be made via auctionhouse.co.uk/southyorkshire
