Ant's bidding for business take-off
A FORMER serviceman who joined the RAF straight from school is aiming for take-off in Civvy Street after launching his own business - with a little help from the Prince's Trust and St Helens Chamber. But 22-year-old Ant Parr, who hails from Haresfinch, is keeping his feet firmly on the ground as he takes the plunge into the highly-competitive world of professional photography. The former Rainford High School pupil has set up shop with his own studio within the premises of OD's clothing store in Cotham Street and he's hoping the town-centre 'spec' will help as he bids to get his fledgling venture off the ground. Ant, a keen amateur rugby league player, spent five years in the RAF, seeing service in Afghanistan and Northern Ireland. But he also put the excellent facilities open to him in the forces to good use by gaining qualifications in photography in preparation for his career after the RAF. He aims to have his studio fully up and running in the next few weeks and is also putting the finishing touches to a website. Then, hopefully, it will be all systems go as he offers the full range of photographic services - from portraits and weddings, to business and commercial work. Ant can be contacted on 01744 22220 or 07843 262999 or via email on anthony.parr@life-photo.co.uk
