Step back in time at heritage events

SEVERAL free heritage themed events have been lined up at Chester Lane Centre and Library.

From Monday, September 4 until Saturday, September 16 there will be a display of adverts and photographs depicting life in St Helens during World War Two.

On Wednesday, September 6, from 10.30am until noon, Chester Lane Local History Group welcomes people to join them in the coffee bar for a talk by Chris Coffey on the history of Sutton. Chris is secretary of the St Helens Heritage Network.

And on Thursday, September 7 library users have the chance to explore the website and trace their ancestry during a drop-in session with Community Library Officer, Peter Sargeant; while professional genealogist, Simon Martin will be manning a family history helpdesk from 1 until 4pm.
