ON the first day of the season it did not take long for Knowsley South to get off the mark in defence of their Star Premier Division title. Striker Adam Morris got them on track with his two goals and Peter McNally added the other in a 3-1 win at Wood Lane over neighbours Prescot Leisure, for whom Alan Platt scored. Top Nogs, Division One runners up opened their Premiership campaign with a deserved 2-1 win at Dentons Green. Mike Pickersgill finding the net for the home team and goals from Paul Anders and Mike Simmons getting the Nogs off the mark.
