Hindpool 10 Blackbrook A 28

BROOK seconds started their campaign in Division Three with a hard-earned win against the Barrow newcomers after battling back from a 10-point interval deficit.

The home side had the better of the first half, taking the lead with two tries and a conversion. But it was a more organised Brook side that emerged for the second period with prop Ste Moss and half-back Lee Johnson leading the way.

The visitors drew level with tries by Chris Canning and Chris Springford, plus a goal by the latter. And they took control with further touchdowns by Scott Lyon and Johnson, both goaled by Springford.

Last word went to Springford who took his match tally to 16 points with a try - from a set move - that he also converted.

Moss was the Santime Quarries man-of-the-match ahead of Ste Marsh, Johnson, Andy Bates and Lee Brown.
