Sankey Valley Country Park
The park has lots of rambling trails and places to fish, and is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It boasts over 150 species of bird, 22 mammal species, 22 butterfly species, 15 dragonfly and damselfly species, and many hundreds of other animals, plants and trees.
The park has a visitor centre and a ranger service which offers guided walks and activities like pond-dipping for schools.
